This & That for the Fairy Garden

In addition to Thai Peppers and Beef Steak tomatoes, the fairy garden accessories have arrived. Gazebos, gazing balls, and chandeliers are a few of the many accessories available. We also have a variety of fancy rocks in our "Pan for Gems" section that can add interest to a fairy garden arrangement. Check out Moms Crafty Space Blog for ideas. Use sticks to make a small teepee or glue marbles to the bottom of a shell to make a fairy bath tub. So much fun!

Enchanted Fairy Garden Birthday Party!

The Valley Center Nursery hosted a magical birthday celebration for Addy's 10th birthday. Addy and her friends entered the garden room and each made a simple floral wreath inspired by a post of a blog titled Miranda Makes. The girls were then treated to Bananas Fancy which is simply sliced bananas with a drizzle of chocolate sauce and a spray of whipped cream. The concoction is eaten with a toothpick- a treat kids always enjoy. The girls then picked out a glitter fairy tattoo.

Each girl was given garden gloves (multi pack of gloves from Costco), a fairy gazebo ($2 at Michaels) and a fairy garden kit with shells, marbles, miniature animals, bottle caps, and other odds and ends. Fancy rocks, bits of wood, succulents, moss, and flowers were available for the girls to use to create their unique fairy garden. Spoons purchased at a thrift store for five cents each worked as a mini garden trowel.

It was so fun to see the girls imagine and create. In an age of video games and constant connectedness it was like stepping back into a simpler time as the girls enjoyed the flowers and dug in the soil while building their own little worlds!
